Stillwater Fishing Capital of Alaska
See our Informative Book
The Matanuska-Susitna Borough holds an impressive concentration of quality waters and diversity of species. There are over 80 lakes, stocked and wild, all within an hours drive, and less than an hour from Anchorage.
Within six minutes you can hop to new lakes and fly fish a different experience: semi-remote lakes, hike-in lakes, drive-to lakes. Rainbow trout, Arctic char, grayling, Dolly Varden, landlocked salmon, and pike are swimming around, getting as big as the lakes will allow.
The opportunities here are endless!
Join us in the adventure and tranquility. The world will fall away as you breathe fresh air from your canoe, float tube (highly recommended), or stay on the shoreline, and focus solely on what's tugging your line.
