Wasilla Creek is pushing water into a large subdivision called Meadow Brook Subdivision right now down Tiffany Drive. Culverts are plugged with debris, so the water is running over driveways at 6 inches, approaching some 17 homes. The Borough will place sandbags at the intersection of Tiffany Drive and Riparian Ave within the hour for residents to pick up and use to protect their property. Central Branch Director Michael Keenan has been on scene and says that some residents are not taking the shallow water seriously. It is a safety issue and they should be prepared to leave if conditions require it. The nearest shelter is at the Menard Sports Center if residents had to leave their homes tonight.
