PALMER—Three horses will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on May 25 by the Matanuska-Susitna Borough Animal Care & Regulation Office.
The three horses were surrendered to the Borough by the owners as part of different animal cruelty investigations. These animals have been in Borough possession since December 3, 2006, January 10 and March 16, 2007. Under conditions defined in Borough Code, Section 24.15.010, Impound Procedure, and Borough Code, Section 24.40.030, Livestock Auction, these animals shall be sold at auction.
The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Animal Care & Regulation Office will be auctioning off these horses, animal ID #A019212 "Sitka," animal ID #A019575 "Romeo" and animal ID #A020467 "Willie," on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 5:30 PM. The auction will be held in the parking lot in front of the Animal Shelter located at 1200 North 49th State Street.
The public may view the animals during normal Shelter business hours 10 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, beginning on May 21.
Cash, check or credit card is acceptable for payment. The animals shall be removed from the shelter on or before the close of business on May 27, 2007, after a physical inspection of the location n the horse(s) will be located, or boarding fees will be applied at $30.00 per day. These animals are to be sold, as is, with no warranties.
The Shelter has no history of medication or other treatments provided other than that offered in our care. The animals have been tested for Equine infectious Anemia with negative results.

Horse #1 "Sitka" (A019212) approx. 2-years old, possible quarter horse mix. A gelding, light brown in color (sorrel),14 hands, 720 pounds on 03/09/07
Horse #2 "Romeo" (A019575) unknown age, gelding, (white and brown) paint, 14.2 hands, 860 pounds on 05/05/07.
Horse #3"Willie" (A020467) unknown age, male, blue roan POA (pony), approx 12 hands, 670 pounds on 04/11/07.
