INCIDENT RECOVERY CENTER—MAT-SU Borough road crews and contractors have been working round the clock on road clean-up and repairs. They have made significant progress, but the list of work remaining to be completed is long. Please watch out for road crews in the right-of-way.
Most of the information posted at 5:00 pm yesterday remains unchanged. Here are the updates as of 1:00 pm today:
Damage remains on the bridge at Parks Highway mile 132.7 (Chulitna River). The riverbank is partially washed out. The road is reduced to one lane traffic.
Work has been completed on the Parks Highway, mile 137.4 at Troublesome Creek is now open.
Silvia Ann Marie Rd. (Gate Circle subdivision north of Petersville Rd.) is not passable. The road is washed out on the far side of the bridge.
On the Welch Way Bridge over the Little Su, the overflow areas and the bridge approaches have been rebuilt.
Shoulders have been rebuilt on Schrock Rd. at Sunrise Drive and on Sitze Rd. On Lazer St., the cul-de-sac has been rebuilt.
In Willow, work has been completed on Stinson, Poole, and Dehneke. Work is in progress on Michelle, Burrows, Friday, and Margaret St.
In Talkeetna, the approach to Yoder Rd has been repaired. A new culvert has been installed on Cummings Rd.. Sandbags that had been used to hold back the flow of rising water have now been gathered and removed.
Deneki Meadows Subdivision in Talkeetna is passable except the bridge is gone on Michelle Drive which remains under water.
