Redoubt earthquakes continuous Thursday

Redoubt volcano remains in color code red as of Thursday, April 2. The Alaska Volcano Observatory reports at 10 p.m. small, repeating earthquakes are continuing at the rate of 3-4 per minute. Larger, discrete earthquakes are continuing to occur at a rate of 2-8/hr. Low elevation steam emissions are likely to continue.

The Borough has an emergency information hotline 761-3790 for local information during an ashfall event.

The Borough's Emergency Operations Center remains ready. Emergency Manager Tom Smayda is in continual contact with AVO. The AVO web site has the latest information on the volcano's activity.
