MSB Recognizes Edward Rasmuson's Passing

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough recognizes the passing of banker and philanthropist Edward “Ed” Rasmuson, who died Tuesday, Jan 4, 2022. Ed and the Rasmuson family have a long legacy of supporting work to benefit Alaskans. Over the past few years alone, the Rasmuson Foundation, under the chairmanship of Ed, provided multiple grants to nonprofits in the Mat-Su community, totaling more than $2 million, bolstering local nonprofits and their efforts to provide food, housing and education to local residents. Additionally, the Foundation provided direct grants to the Borough, supporting libraries and programs in Willow, Talkeetna, and Sutton, as well as capital improvements to the Government Peak Recreation Area. We appreciate Ed Rasmuson’s strong passion for Alaska and his decades of dedicated service to our community and so many others across the state of Alaska.
