The work repairing the dike at Montana Creek and Yoder Road is getting too dangerous to continue and has ceased for the time being. Residents on east side of the Montana Creek Bridge at Yoder Road are being asked to evacuate by Borough Road Maintenance Personnel and the Alaska State Troopers. Earlier today trucks brought riprap from Palmer while a crew of six worked until 8:45 to shore up dike using an excavator and loader. Water is currently flowing over Yoder Road at Montana Creek and the Road is closed at the Montana Creek bridge.

The culvert at mile 5 on Oilwell Road washed out. The road is closed at mile 5. At Moose Creek Bridge there is 200’ of the road under 12” of water. The culvert at mile 8 is at capacity but is holding at this time.
Burrow Road, Friday Road, and Deneki Road are closed at this time. Creekside Drive Road is flooded at this time. These roads are located off Willow Fishhook Road.
A Red Cross shelter has opened at the Willow Community Center in the Matanuska Susitna Valley for anyone who has evacuated from their homes or have been affected by this week's storm and need immediate assistance. Please call 907-232-2698 for more information
Red Cross volunteers are in the process of opening a second shelter in the Upper Susitna Senior Center near Talkeetna for those evacuating from Yoder Road. Please call 733-6200 for more information.
