MAT-SU recycling center will feed global dema

MAT-SU Mon. Jan 10—Animal Care staff with the Matanuska-Susitna Borough will be working until midnight tonight to remove more than 130 dogs from a breeder in the Montana Creek area. Most of the dogs are emaciated and dehydrated. Alaska State Troopers are on scene.

MAT-SU Borough Animal Care & Regulation Manager Richard Stockdale said it will be a long night of transporting dogs to the Borough shelter. Most of the dogs are husky, a few are Malamutes, he said. Animal Care is removing the dogs from the owner because of the lack of care. "Most animals are emaciated and dehydrated," Stockdale said. The work was still in progress at the time of this release. More information will be released as it is available.

The owner is reported to be a dog breeder.
