25th Anniversary for Brett Memorial Ice Arena

MAT-SU— Please join us for our 25th anniversary celebration at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena this Sat., Sept. 26 from 4:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Located at 746 East Bogard Rd. in Wasilla, the Brett Memorial Ice Arena has been operating since Sept. 26, 1984.

Joe Miner, Manager of the Brett, described the high attendance at the ice arena in the Borough's Annual Report. "Adult hockey is booming. Youth hockey is busting at the seams," Miner said. In nearly a year some 70,246 skaters enjoyed the ice.

Enjoy the demonstrations: hockey with the MAT-SU Amateur Hockey Association; Sledge Hockey with Challenge Alaska; Speed Skating with the Alaska Speed Skating Club; Figure Skating with 2009 U.S. Junior Silver Medalist Keegan Messing.

Skate yourself to the music of The Wild Cat Trio. Light refreshments will be offered.
